Nah, but I like this one -- the angle and pose of that sly face, the multiple piercings, and the hair cascading down in goth-girl bangs certainly conveys the "badass" look you're looking for. The subtle hints of muscle also tell me this gal will clearly %&#@ me up [or at least my hardware] if I gave her enough of an excuse to do so (e.g., chronic n00bness). ^__^;
My Etch install could be unofficially called Sid and hasn't broken yet, if a vanilla Etch system with a Sid sources.lst counts XD
*pokes snout curiously*
scanned then colored in GIMP ^___^
Between that, Krita, Inkscape, Blender and Digikam, I brighten the day of any would-be artists who might be a recipient of one of my Linux systems. ^__^
....
On the other hand, I've yet to personally meet anyone in RL addicted to Photoshop,... short of someone who might have simply hocked it and used it to modify on or two pictures during a five year period........ -v-;
Unfortunately, I have... Because Photoshop has become the de-facto standard, anything else is inferior.
But I believe that the tool you use doesn't matter... it's how you use it
But since I've been using Inkscape non-stop for the past two years, I often have trouble readjusting to GIMP and Krita. I've come to the point where I can do practically everything in Inkscape, even some improvisational photo editing. ^_______^;
Blender, though, I recently made an effort to learn, just cause I do want to be versed in 3D editing again in time for my new Game Development era. ^.^
Thanks to a few quick-start tutorials, I no longer fear the weird interface. Now it's just a matter of finding the time, though... between programming and 3D editing, I have to give programming the upper hand for now. -v-
But here's hoping one day that'll change. ^^
And yeah, while I don't know many RL Photoshop users, I have had my fill of ONLINE Photoshop users. A good many are just decent human beings -- but others, hmmm... LOVE their product.
And by LOVE, I mean the kind of love that makes them say "If you don't have this program, your artwork will always SUCK, and you FAIL as an artist by default!!!!!!". Assuming they actually PAID for a real copy of it, I have to wonder if they would have shriveled up and died back in the day of real pens, pencils and paintbrushes.
But yes, I not only agree with that adage, it's practically the C-quel Slogan. ^.^
Oh, BTW, when I was tinkering with Blender, someone suggested Wings 3D. He said its modeler is simpler than Blender. I stuck to Blender though, it's hotkeys seemed like a waste of brain space if I relearned Wings.
Well, one thing with GIMP is that it kinda teaches you the "traditional" way of doing things compared to PS's "automated" way. To the untrained eye, it lacks things like blending options, but I've learned that they're there. The process just involves a little bit more steps.
PS: can blender's game engine make elf executables?
good luck with you game!
